Playa del Cristo in Estepona

Playa del Cristo is located near the center of Estepona. Unlike almost all beaches on the Costa del Sol facing east and south, El Cristo looks more westward and gives more sunshine in the evening hours. Playa del Cristo boasts breathtaking sunsets and shallow waters that are simply perfect for children. It is well protected from winds too. This beach has become increasingly popular in recent years and tends to get quite crowded in the summer. It has a good atmosphere with music played from two of the beach bars. Its high standards of cleanliness and excellent facilities have given the beach the European Blue Flag award.

Galera beach in Estepona

La Playa de la Galera in Estepona
This 2km long beach is delimited on the west side of Torre de la Sal, and goes next to Bahia Dorada. The beach is about 40 meters wide. Not too busy, and is mainly used by the inhabitants of the urbanizations located in the area. There is a chiringuito at the left end near Torre del Sal. There is a pedestrian promenade along the beach and the little dedicated area for access by car.

Bahia Dorada beach in Estepona

This beach is similar to the others in the area. Bounded by two nes it is about 700 meters long and 40 meters wide. The established urbanization Bahia Dorada fronts the beach. A seafront was built to protect against land erosion in the winter storms. There is no car access to the beach. There is an old tower (Torre Vigia) here.

Arroyo Vaquero beach in Estepona

This beach is located east of the neset Bahia Dorada, and where the Arroyo Vaquero river reaches the ocean. There is car access at the roundabout at the Fuerte Estepona Suites Hotel, which faces this beach. The beach is about 1 km long and 50 meters wide and is quiet, with good parking and a chiringuito.

Costa Natura beach in Estepona

The beach is a continuation of Playa Arroyo Vaqueros, but the 500m section in front of the Costa Natura Resort Apartments is officially classified as a naturist beach. Costa Natura is Spain’s first specially built naturist resort and is located east of the city. The place is for members only, but temporary membership is available to naturists. 400m of the beach is of course open to all. You can hire sun loungers and there is a small kiosk selling soda. Parking is available on the construction road south of km151 on the coastal road. Walk around the Costa Natura urbanization down to the beach.

La Rada beach in Estepona

In the center of Estepona you will find the city’s most popular beach, La Rada. This is a long beach with a modern beach promenade along the full length of the beach at 2.6km. The beach bars are all along the seafront and serve traditional food such as paella and fresh sardines, as well as a selection of international dishes. The marina and lighthouse is on the west side of La Rada beach. The entire length of the beach runs parallel to the old coastal road. There are two large underground parking spaces here, or there is parking in the city. Access for disabled people is better here than at other nearby beaches. The seafront and the beach end at the east end with an oak known as Punta de la Plata.

Playa del Castor in Estepona

The beach of Playa del Castor is named after the river flowing to the sea where the beach is located. This 2 km long narrow and quiet beach is hidden behind a number of older properties and urbanizations. Try the beach bar on Punta del Castor just east of Rio Castor. A path leads you down to the beach.

El Velerin beach in Estepona

This popular beach is located just east of Rio Padron, near the Kempinski Resort Hotel. The beach has a large car park and two beach bars, making it particularly popular in the summer. Laguna Village is located here, a small exclusive shopping mall with fashion and decoration stores. A variety of restaurants include Terra Sana, Camuri Grill, Carmen with small roof terrace, La Pappardella (Italian), and the tapas bar. Here is also the Puro Beach restaurant and beach club with a large swimming pool, white loungers and music from DJ`s.
