The average rental price of housing in the Valencia region fell by 0.5% in May to 5.24 euros per square meter, according to figures from the real estate firm Fotocasa.es. Square meter price is 26.5% lower than the average in Spain.

In the ranking of the most inexpensive rents, the Murcia at a first place with very cheap as rent, followed by Castilla-La Mancha, Extremadura and Valencia. Square meter prices in these regions are respectively 4.52 euros, 5.03 euros, 5.17 euros and 5.24 euros. The regions where the rent is highest is the Basque Country with 9.84 euros, Madrid and Cataluña with 8.58 euros per square meter. In June 2007, the average rent in Valencia region 8,11 euro per square.

Since then, the price here declined 35.4%. When it comes provinces fell Valencia and Castellón most in May, at a price per square meter respectively 5.33 euros and 4.79 euros. Alicante fell by 0.3%, to 5.18 euros per square. In Guardamar del Segura, Villajoyosa, El Campello, prices rose by respectively 2.7%, 2.6% and 1.5%.
